For the Fall 2020 season, we made the difficult decision to move two of our over one hundred product styles to overseas production. We understand that you might have some concerns about this and we want you to know this was a decision that weighed heavily on our company’s leadership and was not made lightly. We’d also like you to understand a bit more about how we came to this decision.
The products in question – the Flannel Shirt and Camp Shirt Jack – require specialized machinery and skills that we do not have in our factory in Ironwood. Ultimately, the best partner we could find – that aligned with our family’s values, met our extremely high quality standards, and has a proven track record for delivery – was the family-owned Protexsa factory in Choloma, Honduras.
Protexsa is WRAP gold certified (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production). Our Product Design & Development Manager has a relationship with them from her previous work. She has personally inspected the facility, met the Kattan family ownership and spent time in the local community. They conduct their business ethically, treat their employees well and produce impeccable products. The garments they produce for us will meet and even exceed the quality standards you expect from us.
We will continue to have a focus on American manufacturing, using both our corporate factory and partner factories around the United States for the vast majority of our products. However, when circumstances require us to broaden our search, rest assured that our top priorities will always be to find partners that share our core values and produce high quality products, wherever they may be located.
