Made Like You: Courtney Lujan

Our story is at the core of all we do. What motivates you in your life?

I’m a full-time photographer and a rancher’s wife! If I’m not working I can be found riding my horses or tagging along with my husband helping where I can on the ranch. I love all things outdoors and grew up under my daddy’s guidance as he taught me all the ins and outs of deer hunting and fishing. When we aren’t tending to our animals, me and my husband can be found wetting a fishing line or just enjoying being outdoors.

What are your top 3 guiding values?

I am compassionate. I am a God-fearing woman. I love sharing the love of God and what He has done for me and my life with everyone I can. I try every day to love like Jesus in all that I do and am told by my closest friends and loved ones that their favorite thing about me is my big heart and how hard I love.

I am unapologetically, authentically myself and loyal to my core values. I will always stand up for what is right and am not one to jump on the bandwagon if I don’t agree. If it makes me “not cool” to go along with the latest trends, I’m fine with that. I want to be known for being authentic and never a sell-out.

I am creative. I was always the artsy little kid who doodled too much on her schoolwork. I see the world through a camera lens wherever I go or am always thinking about creative content ideas. I love expressing myself through photography or content and am happy to share that with my friends, followers, and loved ones!

How did you get involved with your lifestyle?

I grew up in a harvesting hunter family. My dad taught me how to hunt and fish and our freezer was always full of venison growing up and that’s what I learned to cook. I didn’t grow up cooking beef, it was always deer spaghetti, deer burgers, deer steaks, etc. I met my husband when he was at college at OSU and married into a ranching and cowboy family. I have been fully immersed in the beef industry and am learning more and more every day about this amazing life and industry.
